The Chiefs improve to an AFC West best 6-1, after downing the Cincinnati Bengals in their week 8 match up 45-10. The story has been the same for the Chiefs all season, and that story is Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill. Both are currently ranked in the top 10 in Fan pts. Mahomes at 2nd and Hill at 8th. Mahomes passed for 358 while throwing 4 touchdowns and only 1 interception, this has become a norm for Mahomes has he has thrown for 300+ years 6 games in a row for the Chiefs. For Hill, he has proven that he is not a one trick pony, as he has become not only a down field weapon for Mahomes, but he also has become one of the best open field runners in the game. With these two clicking, it is hard to imagine the Chiefs losing, and when you throw in players like Kareem Hunt, Sammy Watkins, and Travis Kelce, the Chiefs have the best Offensive in football. With almost half of the season complete, the Chiefs have established themselves as the team to beat in the AFC and if it wasn’t for the Ram, the whole NFL. The Chiefs go into week 9 squaring off against the Denver Broncos who currently sit in third of the AFC West sporting a record of 3-4. This is no Cake walk however, when looking at it from a fantasy perspective. The Broncos allow the 10th fewest point to WR, while allowing the 6th fewest to QBs. With that said it will be interesting to see if the Chiefs change their proven successful game plan to combat the talented Denver defense.

Marist's own Jason Myers, who is currently the starting kicker for the New York Jets, had a huge week 6 for his team. Meyers went off in the Jets week 6 match up against the Indianapolis Colts. He kicked 7 field goals to help his team push through to a 43-34 victory, bringing them to an even 3-3. Before the season started, Meyers wasn't even sure he was going to have a team to kick for in the 2018 season. This was because at the end of the 2017 season he was released from the Jaguars and put in the free agent market. But right before the start of the 2018 season the New York Jets came knocking and offered the kicker a spot on the team. An opportunity he didn't pass up, this season has been Meyers most consistence year yet, and it seems that the fantasy community is taking notice. Last week, before coming off an 11 Fan Pt performance against the Broncos. Meyer's owned percentage stayed steady at 1% (Not to brag but I was part of the one percent). But after his 27 Fan pt performance last week that percentage shut up to 14%. Hopefully, Meyers doesn't disappoint his new following in this weeks match-up against the Vikings, coming off a week like he had Meyers is definitely the kicker to watch this week!
Alvin Kamara, of the New Orleans Saints, went off in his team's week 4 match-up against the New York Giants. Although the Giants aren't off to a great start, their run defense has been no push over this year allowing an average of of 19.4 Fan Pts a week, through their first 3 competitions. But Kamara put that average to shame and made a mockery of the Gaint's defense as he rushed for 134 yards and was able to score 3 touchdowns. This earned fantasy owners a season high 41.10 Fan Pts from Alvin. Kamara is off to a fast start this season, however, with Saints Veteran back Mark Ingram set to return from his four game suspension next week will Kamara loss some touches? From the outside looking in, it is clear that Kamara is the undisputed number 1 back for the Saints. However, it will be interesting to see if Ingram will take away red-zone snaps from Kamara as he did in the 2017 season which led to Ingram scoring a career high 12 touchdowns. Although, Ingram had considerably more attempts then Kamara last season he still proved that although he is entering into his 8th season with he Saints he is still a valuable asset. With the Saints returning to full strength at the RB position and their team virtually running on full throttle it will be interesting to see if they continue to run the NFC South as they have for the past two years.
